50 lenkkiä tehty / 50, done

Heiaheia kertoi, että olen juossut 50 lenkkiä tänä vuonna. Jee? Se on aikalailla 50 enemmän mitä ikinä kuvittelin. Nyt vaan mietin, että mitähän tapahtuu kun se puolimaratoni on pois alta. Jääköhän lenkkeily kuin seinään? Kolmesti viikossa juoksemista tuntuu kamalan paljolta, ehkä kahdesti olisi helpompi järjestää. Ainoa vika lenkissä tänään (aina on joku vika), että maha oli ihan täynnä superhyvää pilahvia. En pääse nyt yli tuosta pilahvista, mahtava sana. Sehän kun tarkoittaa sellaista mössösekoitusruokaa ilmeisesti. Mutta kuulostaa heti paljon ammattimaisemmalta. Mun pilahviini tuli tänään riisiä, kikherneitä, sipulia, kesäkurpitsaa, kanttarellia, parmesania, suolaa ja kasvisliemikuutio. Voi veljet, että söin itseni (fiksusti) ähkyyn ennen kun piti lenkille mennä. Ja täysi maha ei ehkä ole se paras kaveri juostessa…

I got a 50 run’s this year medal from Heiaheia! I have been wondering what happens when the half marathon is done and over. Do I just stop running or what. Maybe I should go for 100 run -medal! It would be a shame just to stop running, when it finally doesn’t feel like I’m dying from the beginning… Today’s run went pretty well, except that I ate way too much before I started. But the food I made was so good! There was some rice, zucchini, chickpeas, onions, chantarelles, bell peppers, parmesan, salt and vegetable soup extract. Sooooooo good. And healthy too 🙂

Copenhagen was great! Great food, fun and easy to bike everywhere and just nice city in all. I did say I was going to go for a run. But I didn’t. Who care’s, it was my holiday!

We came back on Tuesday night and I managed to get my ass moving by Friday. Lazy, I know…

Distance: 5km, Avg.pace: 6:53 min/km, Avg.speed: 8.7 km/h

Total distance run this year: 283km (300km is done soon, cool!)

 

Elliptical machine: is there anything as boring?

I thought I was clever when I figured out that I’d do 30min on a elliptical machine before gym. I’d get warm-up AND my 30min jog done at the same time. I do not understand why didn’t I use the treadmill. I do not understand why didn’t I just go out and jog. Elliptical machine is the most boring thing ever. I tried watch tv, I tried listen to an audiobook, but no. The time has never ever gone so slowly…

After what seemed like 3 hours, the 30 min was over and I could go and do my actual gym workout.

  • Allout: Bench press (narrow grip) 8*20kg, 8*25kg
  • Allout: Barbell bicep curl: 2*8*20kg
  • Giant: 2 rounds, 8 reps each: Cable pushdown (15kg), Cable bicep curl (10kg), Overhead triceps extension (15kg), Hammer curls (4kg dumbbells)
  • Abs: 3*30s plank, 3*10 slow slow slow crunches

After gym I did some retail recovery. New things from sporting gear shop Intersport (they have mirrors which makes one taller AND skinnier) and then some ice cream. And when I say “some” I mean “a lot”.

Yes, I wear training gear when I’m not at the gym. And running shoes when I’m not running.

And the ice cream was heavenly.

Late bloomer

I’m always a bit late with these Les Mills classes. The new routines comes, and I’m like “well, it’s too crowded this week, I’ll go next week”. The next week comes, and I don’t go. Then after the new routine is a month old, and everyone else knows it, then I go. No pressure! This new BodyJam is great great great! Definitely going again next Monday. The house routine, oh dear! Love it!

Besides finding BodyJam again, I’ve been making smoothies. There’s couple of things I’ve learned:

  • it’s all about the colors of the ingredients
  • no matter how careful you try to be, you end up with a suspiciously brown smoothie

But tonight I managed to make a nice one, which was sweet but not too sweet and not at all brownish color! Here’s the ingredients/recipe:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of strawberries
  • 1 cup of red currants
  • 1 spoon of turkish yoghurt
  • about half a cup of lemon&orange juice, or just orange juice
  • oatmeal flakes

Looking for the spring

Didn’t find it though. It’s hidden beneath all the snow… Apparently in Helsinki you can find snow from 2010. Vintage-snow, who wants it?

I did a little biking tour today. Since is a day off from work (yay, thanks Easter!) I had plenty of time to do what ever I want. I started the day by having brunch with my dear friends. Foooooood and good laughs, nice way to start a long weekend.

Then I hopped on my bike, put on my daft helmet and went for a little 24k ride. It was a bit cold and a bit wet and a bit icy, but if one has a vivid imagination one is able to see that spring is just around the corner. Not yet here though.

About food: Evening snack

Or and enner. Get it? Like dinner but in the evening. This is the last meal of the day, and the one I’m more likely to skip. But I shouldn’t.

Pretty much every night the same. Same place, same bowl. Curd, pineapple and something. What’s your favorite meal of the day?

About food: Dinner

Ah, the most waited of them all. Dinner *epic music here*! Depending of the day, I eat right after work before working out, or I scramble my workout and then drag myself home and eat. And try not to fall asleep on the couch afterwards.

Meat and greens. This meal was beef, veggies, tofu and korean(ish) buchim sauce. And spring onions. A quick recipe for the tofu buchim:

You need 200g of firm tofu, 3 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp chilipowder, 1 tsp crushed garlic, 1/2 tsp sesame seed oil, 1 tsp sesame seeds, 1 tsp sugar. Slice the tofu, throw it on a pan and mix the sauce while frying the tofu. Enjoy!

Since I eat pretty much anything, except tomatoes (hate ’em) my dinner is either beef, chicken or fish. Couple times a week I have rice, potatoes or pasta with my meat, but otherwise is a lot of veggies. Lucky me, I like my greens 😀
