50 lenkkiä tehty / 50, done

Heiaheia kertoi, että olen juossut 50 lenkkiä tänä vuonna. Jee? Se on aikalailla 50 enemmän mitä ikinä kuvittelin. Nyt vaan mietin, että mitähän tapahtuu kun se puolimaratoni on pois alta. Jääköhän lenkkeily kuin seinään? Kolmesti viikossa juoksemista tuntuu kamalan paljolta, ehkä kahdesti olisi helpompi järjestää. Jaksaiskohan sitä puristaa sen verran tälle vuodelle? Ainoa vika lenkissä tänään (aina on joku vika), että maha oli ihan täynnä superhyvää pilahvia. En pääse nyt yli tuosta pilahvista, mahtava sana. Sehän kun tarkoittaa sellaista mössösekoitusruokaa ilmeisesti. Mutta kuulostaa heti paljon ammattimaisemmalta. Mun pilahviini tuli tänään riisiä, kikherneitä, sipulia, kesäkurpitsaa, kanttarellia, parmesania, suolaa ja kasvisliemikuutio. Voi veljet, että söin itseni (fiksusti) ähkyyn ennen kun piti lenkille mennä. Ja täysi maha ei ehkä ole se paras kaveri juostessa…

I got a 50 run’s this year medal from Heiaheia! I have been wondering what happens when the half marathon is done and over. Do I just stop running or what. Maybe I should go for 100 run -medal! It would be a shame just to stop running, when it finally doesn’t feel like I’m dying from the beginning… Today’s run went pretty well, except that I ate way too much before I started. But the food I made was so good! There was some rice, zucchini, chickpeas, onions, chantarelles, bell peppers, parmesan, salt and vegetable soup extract. Sooooooo good. And healthy too 🙂

Lauantai-illan hupia / Saturday night fever

Liikunta on suhteellisen addiktoivaa puuhaa. Vielä viiden aikaan tänään olin ihan varma, että en tasan lähde tekemään mitään liikuntapuuhia. Seiskalta olin lenkkipolulla. Tosin en juossut kovin pitkää lenkkiä, kun ei oikein sujunut. Miten vaikeaa se on muka pistää tossua toisen eteen? Tein sitten pienen kuntopiirin lenkin perään: dippejä, punnerruksia, erilaisia kyykkyjä ja vähän vatsalihasjuttuja. And my gym: 2013-08-24 20.24.12Sen lisäksi että tossu ei liikkunut toisen eteen helposti tänään, oli vikaa myös treenikamoissa. Paita hilautui ärsyttävästi ylöspäin koko ajan, ja sortsit olivat liian lyhyet. Ei hyvä. Näistä kaikista ärsyttävyysasioista huolimatta tuli sitä pari kilsaa hölköteltyä:

Total: 308km 2013-08-24 20.25.00Today I had decided to spend the evening at my sofa, but couldn’t do it. So just a small run, which didn’t go that well. My shorts were too short and my top kept riding up. And even the running didn’t feel good. I ran just 4k and did a little circuit with dips, pushups, squats and abs things. It’s still something eh? The views were gorgeous anyway 🙂

 

It just didn’t feel good

Thursday, running day. I actually was supposed to do this run yesterday, but I just didn’t feel like it. Instead, I did a 21k bike tour, and it wasn’t fun either. I’m not sure why everything just sucks nowadays. I don’t feel like doing anything. But I still do, so maybe this man-this-is-boring -phase goes away soon.

2013-08-15 22.11.32So green… I planned a 12k run for today. First 6 were uphill, which was kind of too much. After 8k I was just done, and seriously considered taking bus home. After 11k I just decided that enough is enough and quit running. It was slow and boring, but well. Done.

Distance: 11km, Avg.pace: 7:27 min/km, Avg.speed: 8.2 km/h

Total distance run this year: 294km (300km is done soon, cool!)

I have some plans for the fall. You know, the time when everyone is starting something new and healthy and something like that. Well, we are going to get ballet classes at our gym and I want to go and try that. Who knows, I might even like that. I’m also enrolled to a gymnastics class, which begins at the end of this month, that should be fun! Headstands, cartwheels and somersaults, here I come!

Oh, and look! I found pink laces to my skates ❤ They go well with my new leg warmers, which actually are ice hockey socks worn upside down…2013-08-15 22.15.13

What have you been up to?

Sorry about the little quietness in here. But you see, I’m on holiday. And I just haven’t felt like opening the computer that often. And I’ve been away from home too. Last weekend I was visiting my old home town. I went to see all the best workout spots and just enjoyed the fine summer we are having up here.

I have also been emptying my mother’s garden from berries, now I have ingredients to smoothies during the winter!

Yesterday I did more running, I managed to do 7k in 45min, good for me!

Distance: 6.0km, Avg.pace: 7:12 min/km, Avg.speed: 8.3 km/h

Distance: 7.0km, Avg.pace: 6:36 min/km, Avg.speed: 9.1 km/h

Total distance run this year: 263km

Tomorrow is time for a long run, and on Friday it’s travel time! I’m gonna pack my running shoes with me, but mostly I’ll be eating and that kind of things. 🙂

Stupid legs

It sucks when this happens. I have the feeling I could run and I’m all up for it, but my legs beg to differ. They just hurt and the running (well, it was far from running) sucked. I walked way too much, and now that I think about it, I should’ve turned around at 30min and just walk back and call it a day.

2013-07-23 18.36.13I took my tired legs to a football field, because my hubby wanted to test how fast he could run 5k. But there was a game, and he had to run off- track. I was supposed to tell him lap times, but since that plan went sour he went his way and I stayed at the field to watch the game and did some stretching (yay for me!). 2013-07-23 19.20.262013-07-23 18.57.40I also admired the bruise I got from Sunday’s baseball game, adorable isn’t it:2013-07-23 18.58.04Maybe tomorrow’s a gym day. Finnish baseball (and some running)

Once a year, a friend of mine invites her friends to a sand field to play some Finnish baseball. A lot of standing, plenty of running after the ball and some sprinting from base to base. I have never been great, good or even mediocre in the fine art of Finnish baseball. But who cares, I wanted to play anyway.

2013-07-21 15.01.51I’m a decent what it comes to throwing the ball. So I spent most of my time on the outer field. It was fun to play. Last time I played must have been about 10 years ago. Can’t blame me for too much practicing 🙂

2013-07-21 15.01.57Our Swedish player played well, and apparently he’s invited next year too. Everyone had troubles hitting the ball, but we did have a good time still. My team took a beating and we lost 20-10 or something like that.

After the game, I ran home. Now I’ve done my four runs for this week. Next week, it seems that there’s four again (45min, 30min, 100min and 45min). Three times a week is good. Four is a bit too much. But I’ll just do what my calendar tells me, and I’ll survive the half-marathon.

Running with cows

Since I forgot to do my 50min run yesterday, I had to do it today. It was good, it was easier to run faster and I didn’t feel too tired. I managed to keep the average speed under 7min/km and I also managed to stop and stare at some cows.

2013-07-15 12.03.54p 2013-07-15 12.04.08pOr they stared at me. The reason why I stopped for a while, was that my apps and devices betrayed me and didn’t function well. The radio stopped playing and then the app I use to track my route stopped and all that. But I don’t mind, I saw cows!
