Miksi se rauta painaa enemmän kuin ennen?

Onkohan joku käynyt meidän salilla vaihtamassa kiekkoja painavampiin? Oli kauhean painavia kympin kiekkoja tänään tarjolla nimittäin. Vai oliskohan syy siinä että en oo hetkeen käynyt niitä kymppejäkään nostelemassa…

Tein tänään sellaista minikuntopiiriä tavallansa.

Setti 1: 4 * 8 * 40kg: Mave, Kulmasoutu, SJMV
Setti 2: 4 * 8 * 40kg: Kyykyt, Askelkyykyt
Setti 3: 3 * 8 * 8kg: Flyes (kp), Ojentajat, Viparit, Hauiskäännöt
Ja päälle vähän vatsalihasjuttuja sitä sun tätä. Hyvät setit. Kuten oli myös treeninjälkeishampurilainen ja hampurilaisjälkeisvohveli.

Set 1: / DeadliftsBarbell rowRomanian deadlift
Set 2: 4 * 8 * 40kg: Squats, Lunges
Set 3: 3 * 8 * 8kg: Dumbbell flyes, Tricep extensions, Lateral raises, Bicep curls
And then some ab-things. All sorts. Pretty good gym. Totally earned my hamburber and waffles after it.

Huono sali, hyvä karkki

Jotenkin tässä on kaikesta aikuisuudesta huolimatta (tai siitä johtuen) päässyt taas käymään niin että voisin syödä karkkia vaikka joka päivä. Ja huolimatta siitä että voin (ja saan) tehdä niin jos haluan, niin en halua. Karkkipäivä palatkoon takaisin siis viikko-ohjelmaan. Kuulin alkuviikosta uudesta suklaalaadusta, Dominosuklaasta. Ja sitähän siis piti päästä testaamaan. Sovin itseni kanssa että heti kun löydän kaupasta sellaista niin se on sitten karkkipäivä. Ja tänään oli karkkipäivä! Mikä olikin hyvä, koska sali meni ihan mäkeen. Jotenkin onnistuin lonnimaan sinne tosi myöhässä siihen nähden mitä olisi pitänyt, ja sitten en ehtinyt oikeastaan tekemään mitään. Paitsi kyykyt. Noh, ehkä tätä salia ei lasketa sitten.

  • Kyykyt/Squats: 10*20kg, 10*30kg, 8 * 40kg, 6 * 50kg, 4*60kg
  • Vatsalihasjuttuja erinnäisiä/Bunch of core workouts

Kyykyissä voisi ehkä todeta, että voin ihan hyvin alkaa vääntämään sarjoja 50-60kg, ja miksei joskus enemmänkin. Selkä kestää hyvin, ja jalkojen voimasta tuo nyt ei ole kiinni.

Not much of a gym day, but who cares because it’s a candy day! I needed to test this new chocolate flavor (yes, I needed. Really.). The reason for failing at the gym was mainly because I was so slow getting to the gym. So I just did squats and core. It seems that I can just go up with my squat series weighs, the 60kg went down AND up quite easily.

Kyykkäsin melkeen 500kg!

No siis melkeen. Jos olis ollu painonnostokengät (jotka näemmä jokaisella itseään kunnioittavalla treenibloggarilla pitäs olla), vyö, penkkipaita ja vompatti kannustamassa, niin varppina olis menny 500kg. Nyt tein vaan viielläkympillä. Ja otin taas noloja kuvia peilin kautta (jotain treenibloggaritunnusmerkkejä mullakin).2013-08-26 19.25.29Mutta sali kulki ihan kivasti. En ookaan pitkään aikaan kyykkäillyt, kun jotenkin tuntuu että ei ehdi salille kun kaks kertaa viikkoon, ja sitten jalkajutuissa mave on aina kivampi ku kyykky. Jos nyt tekis ees sitten toisella kertaa kyykkyjä ja toisella kertaa mavea. Ettei ihan itsensä toistamiseksi mee.

  • Kyykky / Squat: 10 * 20kg, 2 * 10 * 40kg, 2 * 8 * 50kg
  • Kulmasoutu tangolla / Barbell row: 3 * 6 * 40kg
  • Ojentajat levypainolla / Triceps extensions: 3 * 15 * 10kg
  • Hauiskäännöt tangolla / Barbell curls: 3 * 6 * 20kg
  • Vatsalihaksia / Abs: this and that

I almost squatted 500kg. Almost. Did 50kg, close enough? Haven’t been doing my squats, because well. I don’t like them that much. But it’s probably better to alternate a little and not do deadlifts all the time. I’ll get bored with them if I do that. Atm I get to the gym twice a week, so I’ll alternate squats and deadlifts and all is well.

I started this Golden Six -stuff just little over a month ago. I’ve red from different forums that results are “visible” in about three months. If you train 3 times a week. But I think I’ve made some results already. Not so much that I’d take pics to show off, but enough to list my weights! They have improved, which is good!

  • Squats: 35kg -> 55kg (I do below parallel, before I didn’t, hence the small starting out weight)
  • Bench press: 35kg -> 42,5kg
  • Lat machine: 40kg -> 55kg
  • Overhead press: 15kg -> 27,5kg
  • Bicep curl: 12kg -> 21,5kg
  • Situps: 3 * 20 -> 4 * 17, 5kg

*Edit: It might be that the bar I use with biceps might not be 14kg, but 8kg. Have to check that one! 🙂

I bought some spinach today, I hope it will help my poor biceps to grow! Just like Arnold and Popye 😀

Gym, Wedding and Fallout

Wasn’t too many people at the gym, pretty nice and quiet 😀 A little of blurry it was though… I managed to add weights to most of the sets, great! Today, iron was light. So probably next time I will fail in so many ways and feel like week like a 95-year-old granny.

After workout it was time to run around the town. To get a shirt and stockings and a card and all kinds of gear. First it was a wedding and after that it was a theme party. The wedding was awesome, more like a open stage jam evening then a formal wedding. And I got to look like a girl! No track pants and training tops! Hair and makeup and all that shit, fun 🙂

The wedding party was over at 23, and we headed to another party. I decided to be the designated driver, since I really don’t like the hangovers anymore. Call me old, but I want to enjoy my Sundays and not spend them hoping I’d die, and then being afraid that I don’t die. But the theme of this party was Fallout. Apparently it’s some kind of a game, which occurs after the end of the world. Now I don’t know anything about games or fallouts, and I was a bit lost on what to wear. I tried to ask advice, but then I figured that if it really is the end of the world, the wisest thing to do is to hitchhike to another galaxy. I have red my hitchhiker’s guide to galaxy 😉

Towel, duck tape, thumbs, swimming goggles and comfortable shoes. That’s all I’d need if the world should end. What would you do if that would happen?

Light weights buddy! And it does matter what you wear at the gym

Let’s talk about gym gear and other working out clothing. I packed my gym bag really badly this morning. I didn’t feel good in my clothes at the gym at all. See for yourself:

The top widens the stomach, the pants are clingy. It doesn’t matter that much workoutwise that the clothes don’t fit that well. But it matters because one has to stare oneself from the mirror all the effin time at the gym (or class).  And it is not fun to look a fat you from the mirror while doing squats. So those pants and that top are not going to the gym with me anymore.

The actual workout was then again good. Bench press finally wasn’t too heavy, so I can try adding more weights next time!

My week is going on well I have to say. No candy, nothing I shouldn’t eat. Go me! Plus I finally managed to do 3*10 reps with 40 in bench press. Suspiciously heavy it was still. I have also found my gym excitement as you can see:
