Alkuviikon urheiluruutu

Maanantait menevät enemmän pääjumpalla, sillä silloin istutaan venäjän alkeiskurssilla. Toki sinne kävellään, mutta sitä ei oikein lasketa urheiluksi kun se nyt on niin lyhyt matkakin ja vaan kävelyä. Tiistaina sitten taas sain tällasen:Screen shot 2013-10-31 at 9.13.21 PMOn kyllä hauskaa miten joku tollanen lätkä voi saada ihan hyvän fiiliksen aikaan. Kävin jo stalkkaamassa ja tutkailemassa että ehtisinkö vielä saada lisää lätkiä tämän vuoden aikana. Kävelyä, tankotanssia ja uintia on kaikkia tehtynä viisi kertaa tälle vuodelle. Viisi lisää kaikkia niin saan lisää lätkiä! Hiihtoakin olisi viidesti tehtynä, mutta en oo ihan varma ehtisikö jo joulukuussa ladulle (riippuu vähän tietty lumen määrästäkin, kuulemma).

No tiistaina oli vuorossa siis sitä akrobatiaa. Tehtiin kauheasti siltoja, ja jotenkin nyt jumitan sen kanssa. Selkä ei anna periksi niin paljon kun toivoisin. Pitänee alkaa tehdä sen päälläseisonnan lisäksi kotona siltoja…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAKeskiviikkona otettiin vähän joukkueesta kuvaa, koska ensimmäiset kisat ovat tulossa ja käsiohjelmaan pitää saada porukasta foto. Kuvasta harmillisesti puuttuu muutama, mutta eiköhän me sellanenkin kuva saada jossa kaikki ovat. Ihanan kuvauksellinen paikka tuo jäähalli, eikö?

Tänään kävinkin sitten korjaamassa alkuviikon aerobisen treenin puutetta ja poljin tunnin verran paikallaan niin että hiki vaan valui. Spinning on kyllä sellainen laji että en vieläkään osaa päättää onko se ihan kamalaa vai ihan huippua. Jatkan siis testailuja.. Tajusin muuten just että multa jää nyt tältäkin viikolta se BodyJam väliin. Keskiviikkona en ehtinyt suoraa töistä ja nyt sitä sitten ei enää sopivaan aikaan mene :/

Kuukauden viimeisenä päivänä on hyvä koota koko kuukauden liikuntasaldo kasaan, ja se näyttää tältä: Screen shot 2013-10-31 at 9.30.12 PMTavoitteet saavutettu, jee!

Why does it always rain on my running day?

Today it was sunny and nice, and it was my gym day. Some of you might ask: “You silly girl, why didn’t you just go running today then?” The answer is that I’m too stuck to my plans. I’ve planned 15k run on Friday, and Thursdays are generally gym days. So. Bicep curls, Triceps extensions, Lateral raises and TRX playing around it was.

2013-04-25 17.22.09If you look closely (and use a bit of imagination) it looks as though I’m getting some definition on my shoulders! And please ignore the super baggy pants which make my legs look weirdly short. And they also make me look fat. Blame the pants! I blame them also for the fact that I forgot to try pullups today.

Yesterday was skating day. We are still skating, at this magnificent ice rink:

(Jäähalli = ice rink). It looks small, but it has two fields. And it’s down in a bunker,  40m below surface. It’s somewhat scary place, but well. Still skating, which is good.

Added bonus: ice cycling

I started the cycling season today, as I went to skating by bike. My boyfriend was kind enough to check the tires and that stuff, so I didn’t have to worry about them. The most exciting part of the thing was the icy roads.

“No maintenance during winter” Oh really?

But I’m still alive! And didn’t fall. Tomorrow, more biking and some helmet shopping. Why oh why are all bicycle helmets so damn ugly?

Rest of this night is reserved for the most promising diet show for a long time. The name translate as “My darling, you have become fat”. The idea is that couples compete for 10000€ prize, which they get if the fat one manages to shed 15kg in 7 weeks. The twist is that the normal weight partner is the personal trainer for the fat one. I mean come on 😀 Married couples and one is constantly nagging at the fatty 😀 I’m not sure which is more fun, watching the nagging or waiting when the poor one who is doing all the work is going to explode… These “loose weight on TV” shows are just constant source of fun. In this first episode, the couple goes to the local market, and the guy instructs the sales persons that they are not allowed to sell any candies or that kinda stuff to the girl. Great tv!

A little bit of skating

I coach a precision skating team on my free time. They are all adults, some have started skating when they were kids (like me), some have returned to dear old hobby after a long break and some have learned to skate when all grown up. We have practices once a week, every Wednesday.I enjoy it, but I have to admit I’d enjoy more if I could do the skating too. Now I just stand and watch and try to teach.

But hey, I get to wear tight clothes, skates and smile. It’s all good! And there was absolutely no point in this post.

 

Tabata and skating

My skating team always has one hour before our ice in a kind of a dance room (mirrors on the other side of the room, windows looking out to ice rink on the other side) and on competing season we use the hour the go through the program. But as we are not competing this year, we use it for workouts. Mobility, strength and that kind of things.

Guess what we did today?

  • Hindu squats
  • Pushups
  • Jumping lunges
  • Mountain climbers
  • Crunches

Fairly effective, we are definitely doing this again. Maybe just skating full speed for 20s and then resting 10s?

Friday is here and so are the squats

First real work week behind me, I headed to the gym. I did check out the gym at the work place. It was small, but it did have all necessary weights and barbells and stuff, so it’s possible to do a workout there if I want to. But not today.

  • Deadlift: 10 * 45kg, 10*50kg, 8*55kg, 6*60kg
  • Squat: 2 * 8 * 60kg, 2 * 6 * 70kg (I focused on the technique, which explains the small weights..)
  • Lunges: 3 * 6/leg * 70kg
  • Bent over barbell row: 4 * 6 * 50kg

At the end, I did a small circuit. I didn’t have much energy left and I was hungry like a wolf. I did three rounds of:

  • Reverse hyperextension, 10 reps
  • Exercise ball crunches using 5 medicine ball as a weight, 10reps
  • Push ups, 10 reps
  • Exercise ball leg curls, 10 reps

After gym it was time for some food and skating at the ice rink to end a nice evening.
